![]() These abilities come from the Royalty DLC and aren't in the base game. You need a psycaster of at least level 5 who has used a trainer to learn the farskip ability to teleport.Starting from the very beginning (apologies if I've covered bits you're aware of!): I will typically send them into the freezer where I can quickly drop all items to be hauled without needing to worry about degradation or perishable items spoiling. You can use this to avoid caravans spawning in bedrooms where colonist are sleeping or in your crop fields far away from storage. This means that you can draft this colonist and send them to where you want your caravan to generate at home. You can figure out who this colonist is by clicking on a bed and selecting assign, the colonist at the top of this list will always be the one who serves as the beacon for the returning caravan. Instead the game selects whichever colonist has been on the map for the longest time, this is not your longest serving colonist as every colonist gets pushed down the list whenever you send them out into the world to trade or fight. It took me a while to figure out but the colonist is not actually chosen at random as I assumed. Farskip works by zeroing in on a colonist and generating your caravan around them. With all of these strategies you will eventually want to return to base. Send out all your casters in pods to nearby towns, form a caravan with your trade goods, a decent negotiator and one extra caster and then skip from town to town trading along the way and back. Short distance trade runs get even more efficient when you incorporate multiple casters and transport pods a round trip to visit all nearby trading partners that could take 15 days or more on foot becomes effectively instant, the amount of stops you can make is only limited by your availability of casters. ![]() This opens up a far greater portion of the world map for you to trade in as you can manage the caravans food supply, weight and even swap out caravaneers when their mood gets low. With two casters you can easily form additional caravans to resupply a caravan a long way from your base with more trade goods and supplies with the first skip, split the caravan and instantly return using the second farskip with money generated and critical supplies for your colony. Using Farskip makes caravanning far more efficient. r/RimWorldStreams - For all of your videos and streams needs r/RimWorldTales - /u/srgrafo's Rimworld Comic Series r/RimworldSwap - Swap saves with other players r/ShitRimworldSays - /r/nocontext posts about /r/RimWorld r/RimworldArt - Posts about Rimworld Artwork (not fanart!) r/Rimreddit - Colonists playing only on a single planet r/RimWorldPorn - High Quality Images of Rimworld Colonies No discussing pirated versions of the game.
